I've always been fascinated with people. I spent my 20's wanting to understand what made people tick, and so I asked a very wise friend of mine who advised that to understand others, it helps if you understand yourself. At that time, the weightiness of that wisdom was opaque, and it wasn't apparent to me how long it would take me to grow into a deeper understanding of myself.
I came to coaching much by accident; within the space of 6 months, coincidently four of my friends told me that I should be a coach. At the time I had no idea what a coach did. I discovered the New Ventures West program and was impressed by their methodolgy to coach the person rather the problem they request help with. This program also emphasises heavily the personal development of each student taking the class, very much a "do as I do" mentality.
From the first client I worked with, it struck me it is an honor and a priviedge to have my clients open their lives to me and to allow for us to work cooperatively to bring to life dormant qualities they seek to allow them step into the lives they want to live.My qualifications are I am a life coach, certified through New Ventures West Professional Coaching Course, and am a member of the International Coaching Federation. I also have a degree in Computer Science and Psychology.
Mindful drawing is a creative outlet that has allowed me to start drawing when I never believed I had any talent - and I mean a stick figure was a challenge! Drawing mindfully, focused on each pen-stroke, without planning, without judgement, just enjoying the creativity and peace of each moment. I also enjoy photograhy, cooking, the gym, and the beach. Spending time with the people I love is very important to me.
